What About You?

Let’s face it there are a whole lot of distractions in this world. There are so many things that need to get done in a day people needs calendars, palm pilots, cell phones, email and a host of other ways to keep track of it all. I wonder what would happen if a day went by and nothing was completed. Surely the world would stop spinning.

Seriously there are a lot of things that need to get done and people should give themselves credit for accomplishing much each day. However when there long lists of tasks that especially have time lines the aspect of life that seems to get put aside is people. I mean this in a personal sense. When was the last time you took at look at where you are and what goals for your life you wish to accomplish? When was the last time you did something for yourself? When was the last vacation and just having fun?

Sometimes it’s good to just take a step back and see what life looks like. Time can travel very fast and it is useful to evaluate if dreams, goals, visions etc. are on track. Does it feel right? It is not just about careers, there needs to be a balance to ensure life is not one dimensional. Work is very important but if it is all about work than growing personally tends to become the sacrifice. Enjoying the kids and family life or social life gets put aside.

Thought I would just suggest a little check and balancing.

People don’t give themselves credit enough. Not much happens overnight.
